Carolyn Justice, born in Ohio, graduated from Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in illustration. She is an enthusiastic pastelist who enjoys giving a colorful voice to the farmer and the market. Her work ranges from impressionistic rural landscapes to the use of flat color to describe the still life. She takes exciting liberties with color as well as line.
Justice’s new work engages a new aesthetic influenced by the style, color exploration, and bold lines of artist Henri Matisse.
INVITING COLOR is on view now through November 9.
A portion of the proceeds benefit Saratoga PLAN.
