Griffin Burns serves as PLAN’s Conservation Assistant. Working closely with stewardship staff and local landowners, he uses GIS and GPS data collection along with on the ground work monitoring properties to assist in stewarding current conservation easements and advancing future land protection projects.

Griffin graduated from Skidmore College in 2025 with a B.A. in Environmental Science. While at Skidmore, he served as a GIS Lab Assistant, mapped out small holder farms in New England, and interned with NYSERDA under their GIS Project Manager. After graduating, he continued to work at NYSERDA as a GIS contractor for six months before joining Saratoga PLAN.

When not working, Griffin enjoys going hiking, fly fishing, skiing, exploring new genres of music and playing Dungeons and Dragons.

Fun Fact: Griffin has been to the top of Monte Testaccio, an ancient man-made hill on the edges of Rome made up entirely of broken Roman olive oil pots.

“As a Saratoga local who has grown up here and seen the county’s ever-changing landscape firsthand, PLAN’s commitment to preserving the natural beauty and character of Saratoga through intentional and thoughtful growth is something I’m thankful to take part in, working alongside such a passionate staff of people.”
