Magnolia Roosa

As Stewardship Coordinator for Saratoga PLAN, Magnolia manages PLAN’s fee title properties and trails, as well as coordinating PLAN’s Stewardship Volunteers including the popular “Monday Stewards” group. Her work includes a variety of projects such as native restoration, invasive species removal, hemlock stand prioritizations, annual boundary monitoring, committee coordination, and more.

Magnolia has a B.S. in Human Biology and Sustainability from The University at Albany. While there, she coordinated the Office of Sustainability’s Eco-Reps. After graduating in 2023, Magnolia started a 10-month Land Trust Alliance internship in partnership with both Saratoga PLAN and Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park. After the internship, she worked part-time at both organizations for another 7 months before stepping into a full-time position with PLAN in November 2024.

In her free time, Magnolia enjoys crocheting, longboarding, hiking, sewing, and studying culture and language.

Fun fact: Magnolia did 3 seasons of World Class Drum Corps through Drum Corps International, touring the US and sleeping on gym floors all summer!

“Knowing how rich Saratoga PLAN’s history is, I feel incredibly honored to be part of it and always keep in mind what a privilege it is to do impactful work with such extraordinary people.”
