Peter Martin is passionate about enjoying and preserving open spaces.  He enjoys both Alpine and Nordic skiing, as well as biking, hiking and climbing.

After graduating from Boston College (B.A. 1979) and Boston College Law School (J.D. 1982), Peter began practicing law with Davis, Wright, Todd, Riese and Jones in Seattle Washington.  He moved to the Capital District of New York where he worked for 25 years for the Ayco Company, a Goldman Sachs subsidiary, and retired as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. 

Peter has endeavored to give back to his community in both elective and private capacities.  He served as Saratoga County Clerk, Saratoga County Supervisor (representing the City of Saratoga Springs) and Commissioner of Public Safety of Saratoga Springs.

Peter has also served on several charitable boards and committees. He was chairman of the board of The Arthritis Foundation, Northeast United States Region and a board member and executive committee member of the national Arthritis Foundation, where he also chaired the investment committee. He has been a board member and executive committee member of Caffe Lena for over a decade.

Peter and his wife, Chris Alexander, have lived in Saratoga Springs for almost 20 years.  Their daughters have left the area and are raising families a long distance from Saratoga, but they remain a major focus for Peter and Chris.
