These hardworking farmers and local businesspeople are one of the reasons why we love and care about Saratoga County.  In addition to feeding the community, creating job opportunities, and adding to the rural charm of the region, the agriculture sector generates over $500 million in annual economic impact. Here’s to the farmers we know and the land we love. 

Anderson Acres, located in Charlton, is a family owned farm proudly offering beef, tomatoes, melons, corn, potatoes, other produce, hay and more. Their motto is Real Quality, Real Honest, Real Local. 

Alleged Farm is located in the Town of Easton, in the rolling hills of southern Washington County, New York. We farm on fields under continuous cultivation since 1788 and take our stewardship of the land seriously. For us, that means a commitment to sustainable practices such as crop rotation, controlled grazing, minimal tillage and the use of cover crops and compost in order to promote and maintain the health of the earth

Argyle Cheese Farmer’s award winning products come from high quality milk produced from local family farms.  All without the use of artificial hormones!  

Black Horse Farm is a true country market, featuring summer annuals, perennials, nursery stock, garden items, decorative pots, gourmet foods, baked items, gifts and the famous fresh produce department carrying organics and regular produce. We are a member of the Pride of New York and purchase honey, maple syrup and many other gourmet products from other New York enterprises

Denison Farm is committed to organic agriculture and is “Certified Naturally Grown.” The 164-acre Schaghticoke, NY farm is comprised of rich bottomland, wooded ridges, pasture, hayfields, marshes, and streams. 

Featherbed Lane Farmis 63 acres of mixed woods, wetlands and fields. With its high quality soils, level fields and adequate water sources, the property is well-suited for agriculture. Farmer Tim Biello strives to run a successful farm business that produces nutritious foods while building soils, caring for their livestock, stewarding the land, respecting their employees and contributing to the community. Biello says the main reason why he farms with draft horses is he enjoys the process of working, learning, communicating and growing with them, and he loves doing it! 

Greenfield’s Forever is an organic fruit and vegetable farm and maker of Farmer T’s food products, including preserves and pickles. They supply a local food system, reducing the carbon footprint of  today’s modern food business.  

Hand Melon Farm, a 425-acre working farm in Greenwich, NY.  They are always busy with over 20 crops that are raised for market, and pick-your-own crops including strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, eggplant, and fall squash. 

Hanehan Family Farms* has operated the farm since 1947.  It was one of the first farms in Saratoga County to participate in New York’s Farmland Protection Program. As a member of the Agri-Mark/Cabot Farms Cooperative, a farm family owned cooperative, Hanehan Family Farms supply milk that is turned into award winning dairy products.  

King Brothers Dairy is a long-time supporter of Feast of the Fields. With a long tradition of family farming, King Brothers supplies farm fresh wholesome foods and goods delivered to your door. 

Koval Brothers Dairy Est. 1942, this 3rd generation family dairy farm markets their milk locally to Stewarts Shops. They milk roughly 475 cows and raise their own corn and hay to feed their herd on combined owned and rented land totaling about 1000 acres. 

Lewis Waite Farm* has been serving the Northeast for over 16 years. They raise 100% grass fed and finished beef and non GMO pasture raised pork in Greenwich, NY. Additionally, they partner with over 60 small farms and producers from NYS and VT to offer the best of what the Northeast region produces.

Old Tavern Farm is a thoroughbred-breeding farmflower farm and testing plot for varietalsNestled atop a ridge overlooking Saratoga Lake and the foothills of the Adirondacks, Old Tavern Farm believes that their future success hinges on the strength of their horses and the conservation of their land. 

Old World Farm grows all their own produce following organic practices and is known for heirloom tomatoes, German garlic, herbs, flowers, eggs, and berries.  Find them at the Saratoga and Chestertown Farmers’ Market June-October.

Owl Wood Farm is a Certified Naturally Grown, diverse mixed-vegetable operation located in Salem, NY. 

Pitney Meadows Community Farm* is a community farm whose mission it is to celebrate and explore agricultural education, healthy food production and recreation on a preserved working farm. They are committed to empowering community members to grow their own produce and educating all ages about the vital importance of regenerative agriculture, healthy food and good nutrition. 

Saratoga Apple is family owned and operated by the Darrows who have been growing apples for five generations. They offer “pick-your-own” during harvest months, and they sell a wide variety of apples, peaches, plums, pears, cider, fresh baked goods, and produce. Apple cider donuts are made daily all year round. 

Saratoga Garlic‘s home is a 10 acre family owned & operated farm outside of Saratoga Springs, NY committed to sustainably producing the highest quality garlic and garlic aioli sauces. They love garlic for it’s scientifically proven health benefits BUT even more for how it tastes. 

Shushan Valley Hydro Farm is a family owned and operated by the Underwoods since 1996. They offer a variety of hydroponically grown produce including tomatoes, basil, lettuce, green beans, a variety of herbs, and cucumbers. 

Thomas Poultry Farm started in 1873 in Northumberland, and today at least 11 of the 17 employees at the farm are direct descendants of Jared Thomas who started the egg operation in 1948 with just 200 laying hens.
