Junior Passport Program

The Junior Passport Program is an exciting extension of Saratoga PLAN’s popular Letterboxing Program, available at many of PLAN’s public preserves. What makes the Junior Passport Program unique is that each clue includes three difficulty levels, tailored for different age groups. This way, every young explorer, from early learners (ages 1-3) to confident adventurers (ages 8+), can connect with nature in a way that feels fun and accessible.

At each of the three PLAN Preserves, children/families will follow clues to a stamp hidden in the preserve. The Jr. Passport clues tests children’s senses, knowledge of nature and ability to follow directions while they adventure in nature!

How to Participate:
  1. Stop by PLAN’s office (112 Spring Street, Room 202, Saratoga Springs) or download a Junior Passport Program postcard here.
  2. Pick one of three preserves:
    • Orra Phelps Preserve,
    • Rowland Hollow Preserve or
    • Spring Run Trail.
  3. At Orra Phelps Preserve and Rowland Hollow Preserve, you’ll find laminated clues ready for use. At all three locations, including the Spring Run trail, you can also scan the QR code at the trailhead to access clues digitally.
  4. After you’ve completed your adventures at each preserve, send in your trifecta-stamped postcard to receive a fun gift.
