This week, Saratoga PLAN wants you to skip the mall traffic, long checkout lines, and compulsive buy-aisles, and instead, opt to spend your time outside at one of Saratoga PLAN’s preserves and trails. Exercise, fresh air, and a day exploring a new field or forest with friends and family is sure to energize your body, relax your mind and help you avoid all that unneeded holiday stress.
Not sure which preserves or trails to visit? No problem – Saratoga PLAN has all the information you need on their website. Click Here for our interactive map and find the best and closest outdoor recreational opportunities near you. For those opting outside who are offline, we suggest you head to the Hennig Preserve in the Town of Providence for some easy hiking. This preserve offers 10 miles of hiking trails in beautiful woodland habitat. From Glenwild Rd take a right onto Centerline Rd and continue for half-a-mile until you reach parking for the trailheads on both sides of the road. For those looking for a paved surface for walking or biking, we suggest the Zim Smith Trail, a 9-mile multi-use trail connecting Halfmoon to Ballston Spa. Access the southern terminus of the trail from Coons Crossing Rd, between Route 67 and Ushers Rd.
Whatever preserve or trail you decide to visit, we’re confident you’ll be happy you made the right choice, and the best part is – it’s completely free! #OptOutside
