Jaclyn S. Hakes, AICP

Jackie is a true farmer’s daughter, growing up on a 3rd generation dairy farm in Chenango County. As Director of Planning at MJ Engineering and Land Surveying, she has assisted communities for over 23 years in balancing land use, transportation, environmental and quality of life issues through consensus-based planning. She earned degrees in Environmental Studies & Geography at SUNY Binghamton, and Regional Planning at SUNY Albany. She is a Leadership Saratoga graduate, a Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park Board member, and a Community Advisory Board member for the SUNY Albany Graduate Planning Program.

Jackie served on the PLAN Board for 8 years, including terms at Secretery, Vice-Chair, and Chair. PLAN provides opportunities to combine her interests in supporting working farms and protecting open space with her skills as a professional land use planner.

She lives in Wilton and enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.
