SUMMARY:Invasive Phragmites Removal
DESCRIPTION:Saratoga PLAN is working to restore natural habitat at Glowegee
  Creek Trails - South.\n\nThe area unfortunately contains invasive phragmi
 tes.&nbsp\;Invasive species damage natural habitat by outcompeting native 
 plants\, affecting soil stability\, and ultimately limiting biodiversity. 
 Sufficient food sources for wildlife\, stable soils and a healthy\, divers
 e habitat are all critical to helping local species survive and thrive ami
 d a changing climate.&nbsp\;\nWork will include using hand tools to manual
 ly remove invasive species. Participants should have the ability to walk o
 n grass covered surfaces with slight incline (a total of one mile or more 
 of walking)\, and the ability to reach\, bend down\, get up frequently\, a
 nd grip/pull/maneuver hand tools. \nParticipants are not required to have 
 prior experience identifying or removing invasive species. Demonstrations 
 regarding identification\, removal method\, and safety will be given befor
 e starting.\n&nbsp\;\n\nThis project was contracted by the Capitol Region 
 PRISM a Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management using funds f
 rom the Environmental Protection Fund as administered by the New York Stat
 e Department of Environmental Conservation.\n&nbsp\;\nRegister to Voluntee
 r&nbsp\;\nLimited spots available. Participants are not required to stay f
